Hostel Sonia -- Pucon, Araucania, Chile Lincoyan 485

Since 1985, Sonia International Hostel has been providing a
"home away from home" for the budget conscious traveler.
Mentioned in the "South American Handbook: English Spoken",
this inviting, two storey tourist residence is centrally located in
Pucón right on the corner of Lincoyan and Brasil streets-- one
block away from the main street, Bernardo O'Higgins.
All buses, save those from Argentina, pass right in front of the
residence; thus passengers with no luggage in the hold can
disembark virtually on the doorstep.
It offers an assortment of clean, tastefully decorated rooms with
and without private bath which accommodate anywhere from one
to four persons.
There is a dining area, communal living room, cable TV, and, of
course, free use of the kitchen; including fridge, pots, pans and
dishes for the traveler grown utterly weary of restaurant food.
During the rainy winter months, there is always an inviting fire in
the common area to take the chill out of weary bones and provide
a pleasant background for the meeting of fellow travelers and the
exchange of information. There is a large supermarket within easy
walking distance which stocks many foreign delicacies found only
in much larger urban centers. Likewise, the many craft and retail
shops selling items such as woolens from Chiloe, lapiz lazuli, silver
from Antofagasta and imported sportswear are only steps away.
For those interested in the internationally renowned "adventure
tourism" in the zone, Hostel Sonia offers literature, maps and
guidance to ensure proper orientation to the many activities such
as trekking to the volcano, rafting, horseback riding, thermal
baths, fly fishing and nature treks through the parks in the region.
When in the Araucanía, add Hostel Sonia to your travel itinerary.
